Start bad. Won easily; second driving. Jigger was under restraint for the first half, then moved up and took the lead at the turn into the homestretch and came away as his rider pleased in the stretch run. Class Leader was crowded back at the start, but closed a big gap in the last quarter, finished fast and got up in time to beat Miss Chapman out on the post. The latter showed early speed, but tired as if short. St. Aloysius was cut off and knocked out of it in the first quarter. Scratched— 39055 Jane Oaker, 97; 39004 Flauntess, 80. Toah ran under restraint for the entire trip and was only cantering at the end. Golden-Glitter was hustled along all the way and ran to her best form. Hernando looked big when going to the post and was under a drive all of the last furlong and was worked out a mile. Our Jessie, Emily Belle and Airs and Graces were, left standing at the post when the barrier went up. Overweights — Gleam Light, 2* pounds. Helgesen did not hurry him in the first part of the race and caught Grand Mary tiring when he made his move in the final furlong, wore the latter down and was going away at the end. Grand Mary showed a good turn of early speed, but was used up in making the pace and tired. Tom Kingsley and Jake Greenberg fought it out all through the last furlong, the former staying best. The latter was crowded back at the start. Scratched— 38956 Lysbeth, 97; 39029 Poor Boy, 94; 3S9S2 Rococo, 93. Overweights — Ed L., 3 pounds. Olonetz, show, evens. Grand Mary, show, 3 to 5. Reiff avoided the early fast pace and never made a move until rounding the far turn, then was carried wide when entering the homestretch and lost three or four lengths, but came fast when straightened out and caught Mary Lavana tiring. The latter .was used up in chasing Two Lick in the first half and might have won with a more judicious ride. The Crisis did her best and had no mishaps. Esherin showed speed, but weakened under a drive. Ilmarinen was cut off at the backstretch and went to her knees and would have been a contender but for this. Lemco, show, 5 to 1. The latter made up a lot of ground and was gaining on the winner at the end. Prism ran, LOUISVILLE FORM CHART. in much improved form and closed a big gap. Arachne was used up chasing Little Duchess II. and tired when called on for a final effort. Chickadee beat the barrier, but Castro took her back. She can do better. Overweights — Chickadee, 3 pounds; Little Duchess II., 1; Buckley, 4. Glassful, show, 7 to 20. Binehelio, show, evens. Prism, show, evens. Arachne, show, out.
