Billy Jackson came fast around the turn and finishing gamely wore his field down in the stretch. Aliens St. Luke displayed considerable speed, but is big and green and tired at the end. Mengis did his best and was very fit, but was not good enough. Red Monarch ran his race and is a bad tempered one. Buck Wynne is a good looker, but is high in flesh and green. Charles Ramsey met with much interference and was badly ridden, but was much the best and won going away af t£r running around his field in the stretch. Blue Sea was a keen contender all the way. v Dr. Carrick also ran a good race. Cast Iron ran a fairly good race. Pamplona finished going fast. Imboden ran to his best form rather unexpectedly and won as his rider pleased after being badly cut off at the half mile post. Mafalda, a splendid looker, showed much speed to the stretch and tired as if short. Loniana closed up much ground from a bad beginning and ran in decidedly improved form. Bird Pond showed plenty of speed for four furlongs. Wigwam ran out on the turns. He is a good looker. Imboden, show, out. Mafalda, show, out. Loniana, show, 2 to 1. Santa Ventura exhibited dazzling speed in the early part of the race, but tired at the end. Nickey D. got off poorly but raced through the field and fought it out with Santa Ventura to the very last. Father Wentker ran a fairly good race and Lady Strathmore ran a winning race from where she sot off Jack Young was going well at the end. Louis Wagner seems to have gone off.
