Duela was well away in a bad start and was reserved to the stretch, then came fast and had enough left to stall off Dr. Scharff s challenge at the end. Dr. Scharff displayed sudden and immense improvement, came through the stretch with unusual gameness and would have won in another stride. Sweet Dream was practically left at the post and made up a lot of ground and got to the front at the sixteenth post, but tired at the end. Socapa ran a good race. Echo Dale showed speed, but was probably a bit short. Orleans was practically left at the post. Scratched— 38818 Russellton, 107; 39112 Jerry Hunt, 102. Duela, show, 2 to 5.
