WESTERN JOCKEY CLUB ACTION. The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Stewards of the Western Jockey Club was held Monday, June 1, 1903. Disqualification of the following persons and "horses was removed: Joseph M. Cooper, trainer. Trenct the Mere, property of C. J. Murray. C. E. Bell, jockey. Robert M. Miller, jockey. The application of C. Johnson, jockey, was passed to the next meeting. The application for reinstatement by W. B. Buchanan was denied. The application for reinstatement by G. H. Pierce was denied. Reyburn was appointed official Steward to represent the Western Jockey Club at said meeting. Racing officials for the summer meeting of the Washington Park Club were approved as follows: John F. Toung was appointed official Steward to represent the Western Jockey Club at said meeting. Racing officials for the meetings of the Harlem Jockey Club were approved as follows: Col. A. W. Nathanson was appointed official Steward to represent the Western Jockey Club at said meeting. Racing officials for the meeting of the Detroit Jockey Club were approved as follows: Joseph A. Murphy, presiding judge and handicapper. Major J. M. Womack and Judge Henry N. Brevoort, associate judges. Clifford C. Westfall, secretary. E. D. Laurence, clerk of course. F. W. Gerhardy, paddock and patrol judge. J. J. Holtman, starter. Judge Henry N. Brevoort was appointed official Steward to represent the Western Jockey Club at said meeting. Racing officials for the meeting of the Highland Park Club were approved as follows: Joseph A. Murphy, presiding judge. John Morrow, associate judge. W. O. Parmer, secretary and handicapper. F. W. Gerhardy, clerk of the scales. Mars Cassidy, starter. • S. Parmer, paddock and patrol judge. Mr. J. W. Price was appointed official Steward to represent the Western Jockey Club at said meeting. Report of John S. Morse, official Steward at the Worth meeting was received and filed. Physicians and undertakers bills, amounting to 75, were approved and ordered paid. The following new rule was proposed by George G. Perkins: Jockeys under contract to or under management of others than owners of stables in good standing shall be disqualified. Persons not owners in good standing contracting with or acting as manager of jockeys shall be barred all privileges. Ten horses claimed by Mrs. Tennie Fizer as her sole property were reinstated for the purpose of allowing Mrs. Fizer to sell and transfer the s"ame during the year 1903. The horses will notvbe permitted to race while the property ofjMrs. Fizer, but will be allow ed to race after sale and transfer to bona fide purchasers and on satisfactory proof to the Western Jockey Club of such sale and transfer. The applications of P. J. Mallett, L. G. Tate, G. W. Beck, and John W. Doyle, for the reinstatement of horses formerly trained by W. H. Fizer, were passed to the next meeting. The meeting adjourned.
