Haydon was much the best, showed keen speed throughout and won under mild restraint. Uranium ran well throughout, finished resolutely and was much the best of the others. Mar-lin stood a long stretch drive well. Charley Thompson faltered when the pinch came. C. B. Campbell sprawled badly when a furlong out and appears to be of little present account. The Forum ran a dull race and can do much better. Bard of Avon showed scant speed. Scratched— 39533Muresca, 97; 39532sJoe Martin, 107; 393S0 Rag Tag, 107. Corrected weights — The Forum, 99. Savable showed much speed throughout and had enough left to offset McChesneys determined challenge in the last one hundred yards. The latter was best and with any kind of racing luck would certainly have won. Jackfull cut off Evea G. at the first turn, the latter pulling back on McChesney, throwing him off his stride and he lost about five lengths. He made up ground gradually thereafter and was fast wearing the winner down in the closing strides and would have won in another stride or two. Hermencia tired very fast in the last eighth struggle. Jackfull was well beaten when turning for home, after showing much speed. Overweights — Savable, 2 pounds. Savable, show, 1 to 4. McChesney, show, out. Susie Christian was under keen pressure all through the last furlong and responded to urging with gameness. Sanctum swerved badly into Myron Dale in the last one hundred yards, rallied quickly and finished going fast. The latter was pocketed in the last sixteenth and could not get through. She stood a long stretch drive in resolute fashion. Mr. Dingle finished going fast in the center of the track, but could not quite get up. Olonetz showed much speed, but tired palpably when a furlong out. Floyd K. came with a belated rush at tho end and finished going fast. Mauser showed much improvement and bears watching from now on. Discord showed some early speed. Pirate ran to the outside rail at the first turn, which practically threw him out of the race. Beaugard ran away two miles while on his way to the post.
