Leopard was off poorly and did not have a chance to use his speed until too late. Cognomen came very-fast in the stretch and would probably have won in another stride or so. Dr. Clark, much tho best, got away badly and was much hampered, but was running fastest at the finish. Kinloch Park finished well and showed much improvement under a good ride. Legation was a keen contender all the way under good handling. Light Opera is in good form, waited on his horses to the stretch, then came away impressively. Monsieur Beaucaire suffered from a poor ride, but displayed a good turn of speed at the half-mile post, then went wide on the stretch turn and weakened under pressure at the end. Deutschland forced a scorching pace and hung oh longer than usual. Bas dOr showed much speed, but tired from racing hard with Deutschland. Overweights — Bas dOr, 2 pounds. Light Opera, show. out. Taby Tosa ran an excellent race at the distance. Louis Wagner got. away all tangled up and made up some ground, but tired at the end. Santa Ventura ran a bad race. Dr. Kammerer was a good horse to the last sixteenth, then tired. Eugenia S. ran her race. One More was used up in pacemaking. Pharoah got away badly and was never able to get up.
