James OLeary reports that the following are the probable starters, jockeys and prices for the Suburban Handicap, to be run Thursday: Hermis Rice, 6 to 1; Blues Hoar, 12 to 1; Major Daingerfleld, 5 to 1; Colonel Bill ONeil, 10 to 1; Herbert, 40 to 1; Goldsmith Burns, 3 to 1; Articulate Larson, 30 to 1; Heno Michaels, 6 to 1; Igniter Cochran, 20 to 1; Gunfire Redfern, 15 to 1; Glen Water, 30 to 1; Water Boy ONeil, 10 to 1; His Eminence, 40 to 1; Bon Mot Waterbury, 100 to 1; City Bank, 10 to 1; Africander Fuller, 10 to 1; Yardarm, 30 to 1; Rightful, 50 to 1; Sambo, 30 to 1; Hunter Raine J. Martin, 20 to 1; Mackey Dwer, 40 to 1; Injunction Gannon, 30 to 1. Haviland and Loone, which finished first and second in the closing race, ran away after the finish. Macfarlan, presiding judge and secretary of the New Memphis Jockey Club, was among the visitors at the track yesterday. Mr. Macfarlan will act as clerk of the scales at Washington Park. P. J. Tomlinson, formerly the manager of E. J. Arnolds stable, was at the track yesterday and purchased several yearlings at* the McAlester sale. Estrada Palma, which was cut down in the M. Lewis Clark Stakes, is still in a precarious condition and his owner stated yesterday that the extent of the injury could not be determined until the fever had abated and the swelling in the leg reduced. So far the horse is doing as well as could be expected. Jockey S. Bonner was fined 00 by the judges yesterday on complaint of starter Dwyer that he had deliberately cut across the field soon after the start in the first race, thereby causing a jam and spoiling the chances of several of the starters. Old Hutch, which started in the third race, was kicked in the knee by Federal while at the post. The injury was severe and his trainer stated that it would be some tme before he would be in fit racing conditicm again. It was reported yesterday that Dirk Bernard was still in a dangerous condition, but in the estimation of his trainer would pull through all right.
