Lord Touchwood moved up fast turning for home and swinging to the center of the track, came away easily, winning as his rider pleased. Pyrrho made up ground rapidly in the last , half mile and finished with a rush. Marcos showed sudden improvement. He tired just a shade in the closing strides. Little Duchess II. had enough after turning for home. Amur / appeared unable to extend himself in the soft, lumpy going. North Wind showed a little / early speed. Peter Paul showed a keen turn of speed throughout, but tired perceptibly in the closing strides. He was taken wide turning for home, losing some ground. Proceeds began slowly, but picked up ground fast in the last quarter and finished with a rush, nipping Peter Paul on the post. Town Moor tired very fast in the last eighth, after making up ground from .the head of the stretch. Beneficent showed some improvement. St. Paris showed a little early speed. Toltec was a keen contender for four furlongs. Firbane ran a dull race and can do better. Scratched— 39836 Copperfield, 118. Overweights — Peter Paul, 1 pound. Proceeds, show, 2 to 5. Miss Veracity began slowly, but moved up fast after swinging wide turning for home and came with a great rush at the finish toward the outside rail. She would probably have won in a few more strides. Lady Free Knight was beaten when a furlong from home. Shawana showed scant speed and appeared unable to extend herself freely in the going. Anne Davis showed but little speed. Scratched— 38825Lucy E.
