" Maxette ran to her best form and lasted longer than usual, but had nothing much to beat. / Ravelment, after getting off none too well and falling back on the backstretch, gave her a stiff argument in the stretch. Fiorenza got third place because Woolsack was tiring. The latter showed plenty of early speed, but tired as if short. 1 Corrected weights — Camembert, 105. Overweights — Annola, 2 pounds. Won driving; second easily. l The Globe raced Blackberries into submission In the first quarter and then fought it out r with Outfield, outgaming the latter in the closing strides. Outfield stood punishment gamely and seemed to favor the going. Laura Ireland began slowly, ran around her field to the home turn and then turned to the inside in the deepest going. She lost a great deal of , ground by the bad ride. Blackberries showed early speed, but tired. Dean Lee was prac-tically left. Scortic raced Tom Curl into submission, withstood the challenge of Autolight in the stretch run and at the end came away and won with something in reserve. Autolight was ridden a waiting race, but his brush with Scortic made him weaken at the end. Tom Curl fought it out gamely as far as he went. Has Gift was lucky at the start, liked the going and had no trouble in securing second place, although eased up at the end. Moroni ran an Impressive race.
