Mrs. Wiggs broke running, laid in behind to the stretch and won easily when the others tired. Loca ran a good race in the holding track, though she has bad tendons. One More tired as usual. Peaches ran a good race from a bad beginning. Dr. Carrick tired under the weight. Stub ran a bad race. Aransas can do better. Scratched— 39990 Dr. Kammerer, 97; 39849 Require, 94. Dr. Cartledge displayed fine speed in the holding going and opened up a long gap early, but tired in the last sixteenth and would have lost in another stride. Wreath of Ivy ran a good race and finished gamely. Old Stone was given a very inadequate ride. Burlin-game lost his whip at the start, took the colt back three times during the race and gave him a miserable finish. He pulled up very strong and fresh. Throw out this race in computing form. Here Jack Young joined issue with her and Higgins steadily bore him out in the stretch run and«as Jack Young was inefficiently ridden Pourquoi Pas won. Jack Young liked the holding track, ran a good race and might have won had Louden not weakened when he was roughed. Buccleuth ran in improved form. Helen Print tired after showing speed. Pierce J. saved ground by hugging the rail when entering the stretch. He swerved badly in the last sixteenth, but Troxler straightened him out in time to stall off Lord Neville. The latter finished fast and was probably best as the race was run. Joe Goss finished well, but was lucky to be third. The Buffoon and Maverick bumped each other out of the money in the last sixteenth. Custus also suffered some interference. Scratched— 39992 Ciales, 105. Overweights — Custus, 3 pounds.
