Judith Campbell was best, broke fast and, after racing with Red Damsel for a half mile shook her off and won well in hand. Red Damsel got off well, is a speedy filly and held on well to the end, although tiring. Sam Craig woud have been hard to beat with an even break. He closed a big gap from a poor start and was slowly gaining at the end. Irish Witch finished fast and is one of the improving kind. Paul Clifford was crowded back at the start. Our Nugget was a contender to the final furlong, when she tired, is a fast Ally, but noes not seem able to stay. Brigadier showed but little of his old-time speed and quit badly. Master Prim began quickly, forced a fast pace throughout and lasted the journey gamely j under a vigorous ride. Conkling was in a good position throughout, closed up fast in the last sixteenth and fought out the finish resolutely. Belle of Belle Meade improves with each race and was a sharp contender to the last hundred yards, when she tired. Sneer had to come around his field at the stretch turn, finished fast and would have been a keen contender with clear sailing. The route seemed a trifle far for Esher Leaf and she tired in the. final drive. Cedar Rapids moved up fast on the stretch bend, but quit in the final furlong. Goldsbv was well handled, fenced cleanly and showed great gameness in the final drive, outlasting Draughtsman and winning out in the last couple of strides. Draughtsman ran to his best form and seemed to have the race in hand in the stretch, but tired suddenly, forcing Mara to a drive. Alene Abbott fenced well and finished fast. Gould was plainly short. He worked his way to the front, then weakened at the stretch bend. The Rival performed poorly. Scratched 42347 Cryptogram, 14. Corrected weights-Alene Abbott, 149; The Rival, 143. The riders of the first four were of little use when it came down to a drive and it was a case of the survival of the fittest. Alpaca was in a good position throughout, ran to her best recent form and finished gamely. Dramatist was slowly gaining at the end and would have won in a few more strides. Monograph ran in much improved form, but tired in the last hundred yards when he appeared to be the winner. Scortic finished fast, improves with each race and is worth remembering. Demurrer showed his usual flash of speed, but quit when hard pressed. Hoodwink ran below her true form. Cornwall got the best of his rider while on his way to the post and ran away two and a half miles. Scratched 42514 Bar Le Due, 101; 427352Lady Potentate, 98. Yellow Hammer was a contender throughout, always performs well, but does not seem able to win. Eclectic was crowded on the turns. Meteorite broke slowly, but closed a big gap.
