King Croker outbroke his field, was off running and opened up a winning lead before the others got to going well, but was under a drive all of the last sixteenth. Montebank had to go around his field to get up, was coming fast at the end and outgamed Mr. Pickwick in the final drive and would have won with a stronger rider than Fisher. Mr. Pickwick met with no mishaps, showed early speed, but tired when the final drive came and may have been a bit short. I Must was made too much use of in chasing King Croker in the first half and tired in the last sixteenth. Sea Shark and Lights Out got away all tangled up and i were not punished.
