CONEY ISLAND JOCKEY CLUB STAKES. The opulent and always progressive Coney Island Jockey Club has announced a very enticing list of stakes to close for entries Monday, January 4, 1904. Included are such famous fixtures as the Futurity, the Suburban, now made a 0,000 guaranteed stake; the 5,000 Advance Stakes, the 5,000 Great Trial Stakes, a new handicap at a mile and a quarter, the Commonwealth, with 0,000 added; the Double Event, raised to 0,000, that is to say, 0,000 guaranteed for each half; the 0,000 Flatbush and many others, the least valuable being sufficient to excite covetous emotions in the mind of any horse owner. The executive officials of the Coney Island Jockey Club have always given money boldly and abundantly and the returns of each years racing serves to show how well this policy pays.
