Lens ran in greatly Improved form, wore Odd Trick down on the turn into the homestretch aiid drew away wit!: great ease In the last sixteenth. Odd Trick is a rapid breaker and showed much early speed, but tired and bore out In the last eighth. Little Boot also ran In much improved form on a good track. Bruslitou ran to her best form under a good ride, slipped through on the inside on the far turn and drew away in the last sixteenth. Harpoon was always close up, faltered and came again and outgamed Trogon when it came to the filial drive. The latter was on the outside of the leaders for the entire trip, lost ground when making the turn into the homestretch and tired in the last sixteenth. The Don, as usual of late, quit in the last quarter after an early display of speed. Tryon went fairly well only. Red Ruler was never prominent. Scratched 59574 Derry, 100. Baron Esher moved up and wore the leaders down on the far turn and. taking command when entering the homestretch, fought it out witli Covina all through the last furlong and won drawing away. Covina ran well and made a determined effort at the cightli post, but tired in the final strides. Little Red ran to Ills best form and was driving to the limit at the end to stall off Royal Legend. The latter ran a dull race. Hallic Sherman ran a good half and quit badly. Azelina, Grosgrain and Signal Light ran poorly and can all do mucli better. Nattie Buntipu broke with the leaders and rushed to the front before they had gone a sixteenth, raced along with Careless to the stretch turn, where he lost ground by making a wide turn, but came again at the end and outstayed Thespian in the final drive. The latter was on the outside for the entire trip and finished fast. Leta Duffy came with a rush at the end and just managed to get up in time to beat out Devout. The latter went well, but was messed about all during the race. Careless showed early speed and saved ground when entering the homestretch, but tired badly in the stretch drive. Grenade rushed to the front on the first turn and, quickly opening a winning lead, was never challenged and cantered home as his rider pleased. Goldniate made a determined effort on the turn Into the homestretch, but tired under a drive. Hall kept out of active contention with Alma Dufour until it was too late. Orly dropped back in the first quarter, but worked his way up gradually to the leaders on the far turn and, finishing fast, drew away in the last sixteenth. Merlingo finished with a rush, but swerved in behind horses at the eighth post and Powers had to stop riding to straighten him out, then came again in the last fifty yards and outgamed Belle Strome. Don Fonso began quickly and ran along with the leaders until making the turn into the homestretch, where he shot to the front, but had to be hard ridden at the end to stall off Minnehaha. The latter came through the stretch witli a rush and was going fastest of all at the end. Telepathy was much used in setting the pace and lost ground when swinging for home, where he went wide, but finished fast and gamely. Tarp ran a good race and finished close up. Tichiiningo went fairly well, but did not run to bis best form. Mary Morris got off badly and made up some ground. Scratched 5944G Beautiful Bess, 100. Overweights Evelyn J., 1 pound. v
