Dr. Coffey broke well in motion, showed the most speed and held the others safe for the entire trip, winning with plenty in reserve. Kiugs Gem, after saving much ground by running close to the inner rail, came gamely in the last ipiarter and outstayed Ethelred. The latter swung wide on the turns and tired when hard pressed. Whippoorwill ran forwardly to the stretch turn, where he started into the lead and in doing so bore over and bumped sharply into Viperine, then came away in the last furlong. Viperine, badly ridden, showed the most early speed and was allowed to swerve repeatedly in the stretch. Nine suffered from much interference and was cut off several times when he attempted to make his run. Monaco Maid had no mishaps. Bonnie Prince Charlie had a rough trip. Bertmont liegan slowly and gave a wonderful display of speed and, when hard pressed by De Oro at the end, Smitli clearly outrode Sewell. De Oro, a good colt, flashed into a good lead, but failed to maintain his speed well in the final drive and may have been a bit short. My Son lost ground by a wide turn into the stretch and ran a good race. Jerry Sharp showed speed, but tired in the last furlong. Bud Hill went well and will improve. Invincible -broke fully in motion and showed line speed, opened a winning lead at once and was never in serious danger. Van Ness ran to ids best recent form and stood a hard drive gamely. Luretta was taken back in the early stages and saved much ground into the stretch and finished fast and gamely. Lady Henrietta lost much ground by going wide and finished with a rush. The latter, badly outrun in the first half, lost ground by going wide in the stretch, but finished with a rush and was going fastest of all at the end. Letty ran in Improved form. Joe Colson quit badly in the last quarter after going a good half. Marvel P. is evidently in poor form and failed to show much speed. Beechwood can do much better. Scratched 59012 Daniel C. 100. Consuelo luckily saved mucli ground all the way and, slipping through a small opening in the last furlong, finished fast and outgamed Macbeth. The latter was clear of interference, showed much speed and lost because of being weakly handled in the closing strides. Merry Pioneer went wide on the turns and ran a good race. Louis Kraft closed a big gap from a slow beginning. Wedgwood showed sudden improvement. Saul ran a fair race. Mainspring ran a good seven furlongs, but failed to stay.
