CROWD CHEERS MARS CASSIDYS STARTING. Most Exciting Finish in, Race Won by Sibylla at CO to 1 Jockey Austin Suspended. New Orleans, La., January 24. An excellent card drew out a large crowd to City Iark this afternoon. The sport was good. Close finishes were the order of the afternoon. It remained for the seventh race to furnish the days sensation. Sibylla, at odds of CO to I, getting up in the last stride and nosing out Brick Top, another long shot. The next half dozen followed in a close bunch. It was the closest finish ever seen at City Park., Starter Cassidy was in rare form. In the fifth race be sent the seven horses away on such even terms Hint they raced head and head for altont twenty yards before they began to spread. The mart electrified the people In the grandstand. They arose in a body and greeted the starter witli tumultuous cheers. Monet, carded to start in the fourth race, was excused by the judges at the request of his owner, .1. II. AfcCormiek. Monet was taken sick this morning with a disease known as mouth thrush.
