NOTES OF THE TURF. Alex Shields is driving Ilermis to a cart at Bound Brook. While iie had him out Sunday, Ilermis shied at a train and fell. He was not injured, however. There are only three stables wintering at Belmont Park those of Fred Johnson, Thomas Newton and the horses lelongIng to C. E. Durnell that were not shipped to California. Charles Hughes says the horses at Lexington are unusually forward in their work and that there are more than a score of youngsters at the track that have shown a half mile better than oO.
