LIGHTNING KILLS DEUCE OF HEARTS. Lexington, Ky., August 23. Deuce of Hearts, one of Captain T. J. Clays broodmares, was killed by lightning In a pasture at Balgowan Stud Tuesday night. The mare, with her foal by Batten; was standing under a locust tree, which was struck by lightning. The foal was not injured in the slightest, yet two rabbits were fonnd dead about fifty feet from the remains of the mare. Deuce of Hearts was eight years old. She was by De Beauvoir, out of Ace of Hearts.
