Miss Officious, favored by the going and saving much ground all the way, ran as If best and came away in the stretch run with consummate ease. Erlcson showed the most early speed, but tired badly after going five furlongs. Orlandwick closed a big gap in the last quarter and finished fast. Mclntyre began slowly and was going well at the end. Dr. Frank came from a long way back In the stretch. Avendow and Bona-venture tired fast after going a half. Still Alarm ran as If he disliked the going. Doriiioude showed a good flash of speed. Lidwiua, away forwardly and favored by the going, took the lead at once, raced the early contenders into subjection and was winning easily when Griffith became careless and almost threw the race away. Falkland began slowly and was badly outpaced and taken wide to the stretch turn, where he closed a gap am? finishing fast almost caugkt Lldwlna through Griffiths carelessness. Bitter Hand ran a good race and was gaining at the end. Fugurtha, poorly handled, ran a good race and, with a better ride, would have been third. The Mate was badly outrun in the early stages and finished well. Fast Flight was a forward contender for the first half. Fox Hunting ran a good race. Hector was off running and the others were practically left, was restrained for the first live furlongs and appeared an easy winner, but tired near the end and had to be hard ridden to stand off the challenge of Don Domo. The latter was left at the post and pinned against the outer rail by Chief Milllkln until Hector and Elastic were fully a sixteenth in front, but closed a big gap stendlly, finished fast and would have won off by himself with equal lacing luck. Chief Milllkiu, away badly, bolted soon after the start and bail to be hard ridden and, although closing a big gap, ran poorly. Maverick fenced well and was a keen contender over the jumps, but tired fast in the stretch. War Chief was outrun throughout. Frank Mc fell at the water jump when about to move into the lead.
