Vaquero, from a striding start, won all the way and was going away at the end. El Dorado, away poorly,, closed, up quickly and finished with his rider sitting still. Gargantua suffered from crowding at the start, closed a big gap and finished with a belated rush. Rappahannock is very moderate but, under a skillful ride, kept well .up In the race and finished a good fourth. Ace High made up ground steadily. Mitre again failed to stay. Merrill showed plenty of early speed and can do better. Lally bad n chance with a bad rider. Molesey got away badly and probably was handicapped by the going. Cottontown leisurely moved up on the far turn and made good with the minimum of effort in the stretch. Fisli Hawk forced the pace and stood a game drive to save second plate, Watergrass failed to stay after a brilliant display of speed for six furlongs and was also handicapped by the going. King Cole shewed moderate speed, but failed to stay and can do much better. Lady Tarantella slipped in the going and can do much better on a dry track, ran well for a half anil dropped to the rear. Jennie McCabe was In close pursuit of the pacemaker to the stretch, where she wore her down quickly ainl won with surprising ease. Our Sister made the running for a mile aud an eighth, showed unusual speed and stamina and was favored by the going. Sonoma Belle kept well up for a mile, then faded awav as if short or unfit and ran a bad race, which should be thrown out. Louis H. finished fairly well. Won in a canter; second easily: third the same. Roseben strode to the front leisurely, made the running unextended by a wide gap to the end and was much the best. Sanfara was always in nearest pursuit of the winner and put up a wonderful performance. Deutsehland got to third place in the first quarter and easily held the others safe for the remainder of the journey. Heaslip disliked the going, evidently, aud was badly outpaced all the way. Caller tired after a close two miles pursuit of the winner. Allegiance seemed unable to raise a respectable gallop. Vestment tired earlv. James Crawford, on the extreme outside, came fast from the rear and would have won in another stride. Gild was a forward contender on the inside all the wav. Andoche was prominent to the last furlong and tired. John J. Rogers and Berkeley were both close tip and going fast. Citrona and Jacinta forced- the pace to the stretch, but failed to stay. Orly drew out on the backstretch and made the running, stealing a long lead at the half and. although readllv giving way to Outcome, held the others safe and ran an extra good race. Entree, pocketed and shut off at the half, came aloug with a belated rush and earned third place in the last stride. Sailor Boy made the early running on sufferance and dropped to the rear when the real racing commenced. Cederstrome ran prominently for a mile when the pace was slow.
