Refined was favored by the going and, after trailing the leaders to the stretch turn, was called on and, coming away quickly, won canteiing. Alyth closed a big gap in, the last quarter and, finishing-going fast, was an easy second. Xedra had no mishaps and tired fast atter showing the most speed for a half. Lady Vimont finished gamely under a poor ride. Jay Swift ran a good race and forced the pace in the early stages. Ericson tired in the final drive. San Ardo began slowly and finished fast. Eular was gaining through the stretcli and would have been third at a longer distance. The Mate quit badly in the final drive. Heart of Hyacinth ran well to the stretch and retired. Rolla ran a good race and forced the running almost throughout. Lansdown tired after going three-quarters. Sallie B. B. showed improved form in the going, but tired in the final drive. Inspector Girl ran poorly. Bitter Brown came from a long way back and was going gamely at the end. Joe Lesser, given a bad ride, was never a serious factor and can do much better. Butinskie showed the most early sjpeed, but quit. badly after goiug three-quarters.
