NOTES OF THE TURF. Bpfore leaving Latonia for Nashville, T. P. Hayes said: "I am done for the year; and it was a pretty fair year." James Riley has shipped his horses from Louisville to Lexington and it is announced that they will be sold at the latter place in November. E. S. Gardners brown colt by King Hanover out of Platter, byMnsetto, is said to be the handsomest yearling produced in Tennessee in many a year. Martin Doyles yearlings, lately broken at the Lexington track, have been shipped to the farm of their breeder, near Paris, Ky., and turned out for the winter. Rome Respcss says AV. F. Waller gathered a bunch of trouble for himself when he claimed Ethel Day. According to Respcss, the gray filly is mighty hard to train.
