HAMPTON STABLES SUCCESS AT BENNINGS. Wins About Half the Added Money Society Folks Give the Layers a Drubbing. Washington, D. 0., October 20. The Hampton stable was again in evidence today, the last of the United Hunts meeting here. Palm and Pete Dailey were the winners for the stable, making three straight victorias for the latter and two for the former. All told the stable has won seven races and about hB1,000 in purses or almost one-half of life entire amount of added money offered. Mr. Smith,, owner of the stable, also leads the riders with four Winning mounts. "The meeting was a decided triumph for the owners from this section, Gypsic being the only New York horse to win a steeplechase, . The one drawback was. the lack of horses and as a result the fields were small. . The weather was clear, the track fast and the .racing .interesting. Notwithstanding the light fields, the public has had all the best of the speculation, the dozen layers that came over from New York getting quite a drubbing. During the running of the sixth race Adams in some way cut his tendon badly, and was pulled up. He was a hot favorite at 2 to IT, -A. Jackson, who rode Setaukct In this race,, showed his ganiencss by remounting the horse after two falls and taking second money. .
