Prince Frederick secured a running start, showed much the most speed and won cantering. Society Bud showed great Improvement in Millers hands and easily held Firebrand safe for second place. Firebrand was always prominent and was hard ridden all the way. Sliver Wedding met with a lot of interference and was given a bungling ride. Gentian ran a fairly good race. Mintla broke slowly as usual, but ran a bad race, much below his true form. Plaud showed the most early speed and was under punishment all through the last threa-elghths. but tired In the last few yards. Citruna ran a creditable race. My Son showed big improvement. Oxford was restrained for a quarter, then moved up into nearest pursuit and finished resolutely, but was unable to overhaul the leader. Ormondes Right came fast around the turn and finished an easing up third. Hot Toddy seemed unable to stride freely in the going and ran a bad race. Ben Ban was speedy, but failed to stay. Mary Morris ran under mild restraint to the last half, then went to the front with a rush and won cased up. A. Muskoday was favored by the going, closed an early gap and finishing fast, caught and outstayed Bowling Bridge. The latter showed surprising speed, set the early pace and hung on gamely in the stretch drive. Palette ran moderately well. Bragg showed early speed, but quit badly.
