ASCOT PARK PROSPECTS ARE IMPROVING. A Temporary Restraining Order Granted by the Court Suit to Annul Election.. . . Lot AugelVs, Cal., Novemlier 21. Unless the courts are far more expeditious thau usual the coming meeting at Ascot Park will come off on scheduled dates and the local authorities, if the plans of the racing people do not fail, will be powerless to interfere. The city council yestcrdav completed the count of the special election and instructed the city clerk to prepare a certificate for Ming with the secretary of state. If this certificate is- forwarded to Sacramento annexation will have been accomplished, hut according to the Ascot Park attorney suit will be commenced today to invalidate the annexation election on the grounds that the returns from the precinct in which Ascot is located have been tampered with. The attorney will base his suit on the fact that the envelope containing the Ascot precinct returns was mutilated when brought Into the council chamber for the official count. The Ascot Park people today were granted an injunction against the city of Los Anjreles restraining the latter from putting into effect the annexation bill passed November 12. Judge Uonrey Issued an order to the defendant to show cause on Friday, Novemlier 30. why the restraining order prayed for in the complaint should not be Issued.
