CARMAN BUYS ALL WALSHS HORSES. Price Reported as 0,000— Special for Am-pedo, Arimo and Colonel Jack. Los Angeles, CaL, February 4. — 1L F. Carman evidently purposes racing on the eastern tracks this year on a pretentions scale, for he bought the entire suing of J. J. Walsh today. II is reported that he paid .. i « for the nineteen horses, among them Arimo and half a doaea promising yoangsten Jockey If. Preston will in all probability do the riding for Mr. Carman. John Brink, who owns the string racing here under the name of F. Yayl.ind. was much disappointed with Atnpedos showing today and expressed a lielief the eolt could beat Colonel Jack and Arimo in another raee a: the saase distance. The owners ol the other two horses, however, were of a different opinion and the upshot of the matter was the arrangement of a time cornered race at one mile for next Thursday, each horse to carry 106 pounds. Bach owner pats up 8500 and the association will add 81,000, the only provisions being that the track must Ijo in good condition. Berghest, Kercheval and Ramus arrived from Oakland today. George W. Dorfee will leave for Hot Springs next week. J. O. Keene will send two colts to run in the Woodlands Stakes. Frank J. Robinson, a well known New York horsemen arrived today and will remain a month.
