Refined was easily best, rated along behind No Quarter until well around the far turn, where she moved up fast and drew away in the last sixteenth. Bertmont rau a good race and easily disposed of the others, was hard ridden all of the last quarter, but was unable to keep pace with the winner. Kxeitement came last through the stretch and outgamed Blue Dale in the final drive. The latter was close up to the ■tie tea, then tired. Venae, on the inside in deep going all the way, stumbled 11 1 the three-eighths post and went to her knees. The winner, entered for ,400, was bid up to ,500 and bought in. Veribest saved giound when entering the home-t retch and finished with a rush. Lady Oamt, as good as left, ciosed a big gap, but tired in the last furlong. Impertinence closed a big gap. Lady Navarre ran on the outside intil well into the homestretch, where she tired and swerved across to the inside. St. Valentine was never dangerous.
