OewaMerathn got off torwardty and was sent right to the front, set the pace all the way. but was tiring Mt the end and driving to the limit to stall off Zhk Ahiams. The latter finished fast and gamely under punishment and was wearing the winne;- down. Orderly was well up all the way and finished with a rush alter making a wMie turn into the homestretch. Won driving: second and third the same, lankee Girl was off forwardly and went to the leaders in the first quarter, then dropped in behind Sir Toddington when straightened out on the backstretch and was waited with until on the far turn before • laking a move, wore Sir Toddington down in the run to the stretch turn and, when straightemd out. came fast and hatched gamely and going away. Sir Toddington. a very lapid breaker, rushed to the front directly after the start and set a fast pace, showed more courage than in any of his previous races and hung on gamely in the final drive. Tilelng ran under restraint for tlie first six furlongs and was lumped into a couple of times while making the turn into the homestretch by Judge Post and knocked off his stride, but was wearing the leaders down at the end. Judge Post was always outrun and Walt in The last quarter. Temaceo was sore when going to the post, but ran a fairly good race and finished resolutely. The latter was paorly ridden and ran on the outside for the entire trip, lost a eonple of length** on the turn into the homestretch, where he went very wide, was carried almost to- the outside fence in the last sixteenth by the winner and was much the nest. John L. Inglis ran on the inside all the-way. saved ground on all turns and finished gamely. Sally Preston showed speed, but quit badly in the stretch.
