Won dricirg: second and third rjie same* Shirley BoHaMWC was lucky in escaping interference at the start, showed a high older of speed and, standing a hard drive gamely through the last quarter., outstayed Aunt Hala. The latter ran a good race and was gaining steadily at the end fiom a slow beginning. Fare ran well and had no mishaps. Mnnchester tried to run out on the first turn -ind swerved badly when hard ridden, but came fast in the last seventy yards and would have been third in a few move strides. £? Matador showed the most early speed, ran in inpr-ned forn; and stood a hard drive gamely through the last quarter, outstaying Peter Knight. The latter —in 1 gooo. race, was wearing Matador down in the last furlong and would have leen second in a few more strides. Skyward wis almost thrown when Vinerine cut him off on the stretch turn, then finisned fast and. but for the mishap, would have been a sharp factor. Vinerine ran a jxwr race. The latter was kept too far hack for the first mile and a half and taken wide most of the way and finished fast, but was not good enough to beat the winmr today. Aggie Lewis dropped out of contention after going a half, but came again in the stretch and finished fast. Helgerson tired badly in the last half.
