FALSE TEETH BENEFIT GILPIN. Hal Bookers five-year-old horse, Gilpin, by Juvenal — Koumiss, has won five of his ten starts this year, as against his six victories out of thirty starts last year. It is claimed by his owner that much of the horses improvement is due to a set of false teeth. Gilpin lost the use of his grinders and was unable to properly masticate his feed. A cast of his mouth was made and a plate holding several guttapercha teeth was firmly secured to the front teeth. The animal improved in health and strength.
