SHEEPSHEAD BAY STAKE RACING. The usual profusion of interesting fixed events marks the Sheepshcad Hay programme for the racing week beginning tomorrow. The Mermaid Stakes, a dash of a mile and an eighth for three-year-old lillies, with i?3,000 added, will be run .Monday, the names of the probable starters appearing in tills issue. The Long Island Handicap for three-year-olds and over at a mile and an eighth, 83,000 added, will be decided Tuesday. The Independence Steeplechase over the full course, the Spring Stakes for two-year-olds at three-quarters, and the Advance Stakes, one mile and three-eighths for three-year-olds and over, at weight for age, promise admirable entertainment for the thousands who will gather at the great seaside track. Flip Flap, is an eligible, as also are Accountant, Tony Faust, Nealon, Tokalon, Peter Pan, Montgomery, Tangle, Salvidere, Arcite, Cot-toiitown, Running Water, Far West, Dr. Gardner, Electioneer, Gallavant, Charles Edward and other good ones. One stake race Is down for Friday afternoon, the Spindrift, a handicap for three-year-olds at a mile and an eighth, with ,000 added.
