BESSIE SPAHRS YEARLING SON. Cincinnati. O., July 10. Fred Cooks yearling colt by Dick Welles Bessie Spahr, which was foaled at J. 15. Respess Woodlawn Farm, has been shipped to Nashville to he broken and trained. He is a handsome youngster, but he was not born that way. lie came with such crooked legs that those who saw him thought him deformed. T. P. Hayes advised Cook to destroy tlie foal. "There is no use fooling away time with such a specimen," said he. But Cook said he would take a chance. As the colt grew his legs straightened and now they are perfect.
