Royal Ben outbroke the others and led all the way, but was lucky, probably. Star Cat, away second, maintained nearest pursuit of the winner throughout and ran a good, game race. Sonoma Belle, a slow beginner r.nd nearly left, closed an immense gap into u fast going third and probably was best. Nagazam, from a good start, ran prominently all the way and finished well. Aralio closed a considerable gap in the last half. Workuiuid, under a bad ride, was iicver dangerous and just about held her own. Black Oak ran in striking distance pursuit of the pacemaker from the start, but went wide on the last turn and finished with a belated rush. King Sol came fast from the rear and ran like a coming good cue. Magazine ran head and head with the wimier for five furlongs and then quit badly. Obert, shuffled to the rear at the start, closed a big gap and is very promising. Number One, away very badly, also made up much ground under a bad ride. Ziephen showed early speed. Castlcwood, nearly left, closed a b!g earlgap and loomed up on the last turn, but. the effort exhausted him and he tired and was pulled up. Yorkist, after lucky forward pursuit of the pacemakers, stole Into a long and winning lead on the last turn and just lasted the journey. Cutter set and forced the pace to the far turn, was then gradually crowded back and then came again with remarkable- resolution hi the closing drive. Miss Doyle, nearly left, steadily improved her position, closed a gap from a hopelessly rear place and, finishing going like a cyclone, was much the best. Belfast had no mishaps, was reserved 011 the inside in behind the leaders and loomed up in the stretch, but tired finally. Tipping, crowded back, hail a tough journev on the back-stielch, but closed up steadily into a close fifth. Herman dropped back at the half and came again l.udora was forced to null up at the half and had no chance afterwards. Onatas was as good as left The winner was entered for ,000; 110 bid. Zambesi patiently s-nd skillfully saved in the rear, could not make any impression on the leaders in the stretch Kentucky Beau set a tremendous pace for live furlongs and then retired quickly. Rusclmo showed superior early speed, but tired in the closing drive. Green Goods, away ixwrly. closed a gap. Lancashire Lad, nearly left, made up much ground. Hiacko, crowded back and nearly left, closed a big early gap, loomed up menacingly on the last turn and was pulled up at the end. The winner was entered for 700; no bid. Escutcheon broke well and was slightly outpaced for the first half, but finished with a rush. Robin Hood, after forward and stienuous pursuit of the leader, loomed up well midway of the stretch, but tired finally. Orphan Lad got away poorly and went wide on the turn, then finished fast, but too late. Miss Stroma, nearly left, closed an Immense gap in a splendid effort. Ingham ran lapped on the winner for five furlongs before lie succumbed, but quit very badly right at the end. Aendor finished close up. Druid seemed unable to raise a respectable gallop.
