DISQUALIFICATION AT FORT ERIE. Heavily Backed Pinkola Gets a Purse Because of Running Accounts Foul. HuiTalo, N. Y., July 21. The disqualification of Punning Account in the second race today enabled W. 11. Fizcr ad his party to cash heavy wagers on Pinkola. There was much foul riding and Pinkola suffered most. Pinkola had an inside position at the post, while Punning Account was on Hi" extreme outside. Directly after the start C. Kelly took Punning Account across to the inside and caused a jam in whicli Pinkola was knocked hack. Lee attempted to get Pinkola through on the turn out of the backstrotch and was again interfered with. lie was dually forced to go to the outside. Pinkola went around the leaders with a rush and and at the linisli was wearing Punning Account down. The judges on hearing Lees complaint promptly allowed the foul ;iud tlui change in the placing gave Pinkola first. Miekloton Maid second, and Oilvedear third. Pinkola was backed all over the country. No horse so heavily backed has won at Fort Kric in many a day. The mount on Punning account is the lirst C. Kelly has had in over a year and Ids anxiety to pilot a winner probably caused his foul riding. Kelly was fined 3 by the starter for trying to beat the barrier, and another line of 3 was handed out by the judges for foul riding. The Canadian Derby winner, Charlie Gilbert, gave away much weight and won the third race easily, lie came from behind after trailing along for the lirst three furlongs. Jockey Lycurgus, who rode Julia Gentzberger in the sixtii race, was caught in a jam on the back-stretch and roll off the filly. He escaped with a shaking up and rode Nellie Uacine in the seventh race. The lirst run-up of the meeting occurred after Henry . won the fifth race. W. Walker tixdc him for 00. Henry . was the second choice in the race and won easily after getting away from from the post none too well. Jockey G. Swain rode three of the winners. The entry of Father Catchem has been barred.
