Won driving; second and third the same.-Druid established a small lead at the start and set the pace throughout, but just lasted the journey. Azora, from a flat footed start, was shuttled back on the lirst turn, then closed up rapidly and challenged the leader at the half, but could not ipiite get up. Tipping, seemingly outpaced early, moved up fast at the half, but tired and swerved in the closing drive. Betsy Binfortl ran far In the rear all the way and can do better. Miss Strome, boring out on the lirst turn, ran under a choking pull for half of the journey, lint suddenly dropped to the rear and would not respond to urging in the last half. The winner, entered for SI. 400, was bid up to ,200 and bought in. Earls Court, from a Hying start, set the pace to the last sixteenth before he was headed, was a game second and shows steady fm-provcnieiit. Jubilee, pocketed and under a pull in the early running, failed unexpectedly in the last quarter and ran a bad race. Troublemaker broke in close quarters and gradually improved his position on the outside, drew out like a Hash when straightened for home and won like a coming good one. Robin Hioil outbroke and outpaced the others to the final sixteenth, where lie tired. Big Ben was a prominent contender to the last sixteenth and tiled. Belle Strome was well up from the start and going well at the end. Diamond helped force the pace and quit right at the end. Don Hamilton broke poorly, hut closed up steadily, was carried wide on the last turn and finished a game and close up sixth. Royal Onyx showed superior early speed and was crowded on the inside in the last furlong. Golden West closed a big gap from a poor start. Belilenio imished well. Chalfonte had no chance at the start. Sewell was virtually left, but set sail for the others, closed up rapidly, but gradually, turned wide on the outside of the tiring leaders and drew out with a rush right at the end. Botanist set the pace to the stretch, whore he drew out like the winner, but was unprepared for Sewells irresistible challenge. Bat Masterson bellied to force the pace and, after running head and head with Botanist to the stretch, tired and was lucky to save third place. W. II. Daniel, a grand looker and palpably short, ran in close attendance on the pacemaker under a pull for a half mile, then went wide on the stretch turn, losing much, ground, and tired in the closing drive. Cartilage indulged the pacemaker with the lead to the far turn, where lie ran to the front and. coming on fast, won easing up. Cederstronie made the running on sufferance for seven furlongs and quickly gave way to the favorites challenge, but came on again and easily saved second place. Sonoma Belle, away poorly and frequently pulled up on account of interference, was pinned in next to the rail on the far turn, hut finished a fast going third and should have been second. Miss Crawford was handicapped by the track conditions, but held on very gamely throughout. Tommy Waddell ran prominently for a mile and then tired. Ostrich retired early. King Cobalt, from a fair start, was rushed through on the inside into the lead at the half and stole away on the last turn, but finished tiring and just lasted the journey. Corncob, outpaced early and running wide on the turn for home, finished with a belated rush and just failed to get up. Hans, shuttled back gradually, was gaining fast at the end. Desirous showed superior speed in strenuous pursuit of the winner, but tired finally. Franklin is an extra good looker that finished fast on his own courage. Antaeus, away badly, closed a big gap and is promising. Pomander, a splendid looker, but palpably big and unfit, simply cantered the journey.
