Julia Gentzberger, away fast and showing the most speed, set the pace to the stretch turn, where she tired slightly but, standing a hard drive gamely, lasted just long enough. Alsono, going wide most, of the way. saved ground on the stretch turn, but suffered from interference in the run through the streftch and was probably best. Bellmenee ran a good race, closing a big gap in the last quarter. Bazil closed a gap. Dulclnea tired after going a half. Soprano was raced into exhaustion in the first half and tired 1-udly. J. W. Dandy Dancer, lucky and showing her customary high speed, appeared the winner ou the stretcli turn, but tired suddenly. Bewitched showed sudden improvement and was a prominent factor all the way. Kitty Smith ran a fairly good race and had no mishaps. Whisk Broom quit in the last quarter. Lady Elkhorn was practically left. Etta Louise wheeled as the barrier went up and was left. Mamaroneck quickly moved up to a contending position and finished gamely. McQuiddy began slowly and suffered from much interference, but closed a big gap and finished with a rush to fake third place. Eonite ran a good race, but was handicapped by a timid ride. Green Dale ran poorly, can do much better and Foley did not persevere with him. Padrone was practically left. Lord Dixon ran a good raee, but was tiring slightly in the last furlong. Azc-llna, poorly ridden, suffering from interference and going wide throughout, ran a good race and was probably best. Showman ran fairly well. Harniakls failed to respond when called on in the stretch. Canoplau stumbled on the first turn and unseated his rider. The wluner wa.s entered for 00; no bid.
