GOOD AND PLENTY IS DESTROYED. Thomas Hitchcock, Jr., Humanely Ends the Suffering of His Famous Jumper. New York, August 17. Thomas nitchcock, Jr.s, famous juniper Good and Plenty Is dead. He was destroyed after a consultation of a number of veterinarians, who agreed that it was the only humane way to end his incurable afflictions. Never a thoroughly sound horse, the magniliccnt son of Rossing-ton and Famine recently became so lame that It was with difficulty that he could support the weight of his massive body. After the consultation, which was held at Mr. Hitchcocks place on the Jericho Turnpike, near Wcstbury, the old horse was shot. He was hurled almost on the dividing line between Mr. Hitchcocks place and the Westbury estate of Harry Payne Whitney. The following is a record of Good and Plentys performances and winnings: Year.
