CAPTAIN JIM REES MAY ACCEPT. Memphis, Tonn., September !. Friends of Captain James 11. Reus are resiionslble for the statement that lie will be seen ia active service on the turf again the coming winter in the capacity of presiding judge at the New Orleans track. The formal tender of the position has been made, according to Captain Rees most intimate friends, and they say he will accept. Captain Rees presided at ids last meeting during the opening of the Lexington meeting two seasons since. lie had retired for good several years prior to the New Orleans meeting, but returned to please his friend and then owner of the Lexington track, the late Captain S. S. Brown.
