Tenez dropped back on the turn into the homestretch, but closed up again under punishment. Knight of Ilillsboro responded gamely to punishment and finished well. Pryt.ania, outrun for the first half, moved tip on the turn into the homestretch and, after a sharp tussle with Master Lester in the stretch, disposed of the latter and drew away in the last sixteenth. Master Lester- broke slowly and was badly outpaced in tlte early stages, but closed up with a rush on the far turn and easily disposed of Muck Rake, but had nothing left to stall off the winners challenge. Muck Rake left the post with a great burst of speed and set a fast pace for five furlongs and then tired. Willis Green could never got up. -Wabash Queen ran poorly. Ruwell was kept far back until in the last half mile, then closed a big gap in the next quarter, was the best and should have won. Lester L. Hayntan went well and is improving. Botanist was speedy, but was made entirely too much use of in sotting the pace, which was very fast considering the going, and quit when Ilawkama caught him.
