NOTES OF THE TURF. William Garth lias thirty-four yearlings at Bcn-hing. The best one is a brown gelding liy Hawks-wick Smirr. and it is said he can outrun everything of his age at the track. General AV. T. Towne has two yearlings at Beu-ning, for which he is claiming great things, The colt is a full brother to T." S. Martin and the lllly is closely related to the English mare. Pretty Polly. Dave Henry will go to the Schreiber farm in a day or so to make up his outfit for Oakland. Johnny Powers will come to Latonia and take charge of the string there until the racing is on at Los Angeles. The broodmares Sallie of Navarre, Belle of Troy and Irish Heel have been shipped east from Lexington to winter at Brookdale Farm. The iirst-nauied two have weanlings by Broomstick, the former a colt and the latter a filly. All three of the inares were bred to the French horse Adam this year.
