CHARACTERISTIC OF OWNERS. Some of the horsemen with stables at New Orleans are said to be already assigning their more or less imaginarv "bad luck" to the alleged high prices they are forced to pay for foodstuffs for their charges. They claim that the prices now charged by the feed men with stores adjacent to the two -New Orleans tracks are fully fifteen per cent lilgher than they were last year. The prices thcy allege to be high are in line with the prices pre- vailing all through the south for oats, hay and straw. The southern stats for that matter are not alone In this respect. Horsemen at both of the California tracks are also grumbling and the same disaffection was among them before they left the eastern tracks. I .
