NOTES OF THE TURF. Billy Du Bols and Jack . Odom, the New York turfmen, have returned from1 Mexico. Odom has Angler and Rosario at Shecpshead. Jockey Baird, who was a riding star a few short years ago, was recently disciplined by the officials of the Suburban Sunday merry-go-round at New Orleans. James B. Haggin will, it is said, breed some of his best mares at Eltnehdorf Farm to his stallion Kilmarnock next spring. The only racers sired by this horse which .have raced are Killaloe and Killie-crankie. It has just been made public that Lady Londonderry is the winner of a prize offered in a competition open to experts on pedigrees as to the best detail to be discussed during the coming winte-having for its subject the most appropriate blood lines. Julius Bauer, who has about made up his mind to winter at Gravesend, keeps his string to shed work. Raquel, a speedy and well-tried one, last spring went amiss or Bauer would surely have won some races. It was easy for Raquel to show three furlongs in 341 in the spring. Shu has all the speed of her dam, llatasoo.
