The Mighty, from a striding start, maintained nearest pursuit of the winner throughout and is only in moderate form. Magrane broke slowly, but ran in forward contention to the stretch and tired as if short. Dick Wilson held on well, but was outclassed. Dr. Sherman quit early. Supreme Court is not ready. St. Francis was always in nearest pursuit of the winner and easily best of the others. Columbia Girl, outpaced early, finished well. Plausible ran forwardly to the stretch and quit. Ramus, not fit, was hopelessly outrun from the start. Emily M. showed early speed and probably was short. The winner, entered for ,500, was bid up to ,800 and bought by J. Freters. Lazell broke well, but was badly outpaced for half the journey, then moved up and made good with a cvclonic stretcli sprint. Beechwood set the pace for a mile and succumbed readily to the winner, but finished a game second and is improving. Cholk Hedrick, away slowly in close quarters, loomed up menacingly on the last turn, but was badly messed about in a belated finish. Lassen, after forward pursuit of the leaders for seven furlongs, tired, but ran a good race. Isabelita trailed and was badly outpaced to the stretch, but finished with a rush. Orchan retired early and is not good. Nine Spot broke down. The winner, entered for 00, was bid up to ,000 and bought by H. G. Bedwell. Deutschland drew out early and set a tremendous pace, withstood all stretch challenges in game style and outclassed his opponents. Native Son was a very game contender throughout and ran a grand race. Johnny Lyons, always well up, finished wearing the leaders down and likes slower going. Banposal, in the deepest going, was outrun and messed about, but finished fast. Cloudlight, prominent for six furlongs, tired in the closing drive. Marian Casey, from a llatfooted start, was driven through the inside deep going, closed an immense gap, but failed to get up, was best and beaten by a bad ride. Altair, a Mow beginner, broke slowly, but closed up steadily into a fast going third. Jack Paine loomed up well in the stretch, showed suoerior speed and tired as if short. Compound Interest showed superior early speed and quit badly. Margaret Randolph, flatfooted at the start and pulled up sharply, closed a big earlv gap. but quit badly at the end. Queen Alamo, after forward pursuit of the pacemaker throughout, wore her down iinallv for second place. Lily Guiding made the running to midway of the stretch, where she tired and swerved out of second place. Isolation ran prominently to the stretch and tired. Lady Mirthful, outrun early, was gaining fast in the stretch and likes a longer race. Scratched 72040 Pinaud, 107. Overweights Isolation, 3 pounds.
