IMMENSE AUSTRALIAN CROWDS. Of the immensity of the crowd that saw Apologue win the Cup last month, an Australian writer says: "Men who have been estimating these attendances for twenty-seven years, and should be able to get very near the mark without counting the pleknickers on the hill overlooking the Saltwater River, and the hill between the scraping sheds and the Race Course Hotel, they put the number of people at Flemingtou on Apologues day down at 100,000. This is at least three times as many people as sec any days racing in Australia at any place save the Flcmington course."
