i I 1 ■ 1 i THOROUGHBREDS AUCTIONED AT OAKLAND. The sale of race horses in the paddock at Oakland last Saturday by auctioneer W. P. Magrane. was well attended and only two offered were passed— Pajaroitit. on which a reserve price of ,000 had been placed, and Arklirta, for which ,500 was bid, but which was bid in by S. McNaughton, acting for his owner. The names, pedigrees, buyers and prices paid for the five horses sold are as follows: R. M. Brown, b. g, 2, by Joe Terry— Quartre: John Freters i00 Philistina. ch. f. 2. by Joe Terry— La Amiga: J. Hornuug 175 Doctor Weis. ch. e. .:. by Puryear D. — Adios; J. Robinson 175 Joe Goss. ch. g, 11, by Lysander — Vandalight: J. K. King 150 Royal Pilot, b. g, 2. by Canopus— Royal Aquarium : P. Brewster 100 T. P. Schwartz, who bred and trained the three two year olds sold by Y. K. luminous, announced that he would offer for sale all of the horses he has at his ranch during the last week of the Oakland meeting.
