Light Wool forced a tremendous pace from the start, faltered momentarily after turning for home, causing Shilling to shake him up, then came on fast in the final sixteenth and held Colonel Jack safe through the last fifty yards. Colonel Jack showed a high turn of speed and clung on tenaciously in the lead for the first six and a half furlongs, but was unexpectedly brought to the whip and tired in the final sixteenth. The linr stirrup of Critics rider broke just as the barrier went up and Harty lost control of him. He ran av.ay a mile after finishing. Scratched — 73610-Siduey F., 10G. Our Sallie, ii: dose quarters all of the final eighth, got through In the last few strides and finished like a shot. Red Thistle and Buster Jones ran well for a mile and an eighth.
