PERSONAL LIBERTY LEAGUE DECLARATION DECLARATIONNew New York June 25 The Personal Liberty league which will be formally organized In a few lays has opened headquarters In the St Paul It U lid Ing 720 Broadway Frank W Thorp and George II Smith bare been placed In charge of af f fairs temporarily From the statement sent out is this Enrollment is necessary and at once f5end in your full name your voting address and do not neglect to state your assembly and senatorial dis ¬ trict The promoters of this league have in mind a thorough organization of personal liberty believ ¬ ers on a broad and liberal basis They will wel ¬ come those who believe in liberal Sunday laws which will permit the man who labors six days a week to enjoy baseball athletics and other diver ¬ sions on Sundays If it sopleases him They will also welcome those who believe that there Is no more harm enjoying the morals taught by a good play on a Sunday evening than there is to the listening to the music anil the singjng of the choir in church They will welcome those who deny the right of fanatical cranks to say when a man shall drink how much he shall drink and where and how he must drink These are all matters which directly affect the personal wishes and liber ¬ ty of the individual and it Is these frenzied attacks of the minority on the liberty of the majority which the league will seek to counteract and ob ¬ struct To swear allegiance to any political party would be fatal to the aims of this organization
