PERSONAL LIBERTY LEAGUE GROWS FAST New York July 11 Secretary J Cavanagb treas ¬ urer of the Personal Liberty League has an office with about twelve clerks and typewriters running in the St Paul Building here He says his books are open to all which means that tlie enrollment is so heavy he will be glad to have it Inspected es ¬ pecially by loud shouting reformers who have a habit of telling cowardly legislators that they are the repositories of public sentiment sentimentColonel Colonel Franklin Bartletr president of the league Is in Europe but he will cut hla visit abroad short in order that he may t e back toy the middle of next month to perfect the organization of the league leagueIn In Colonel Bartletts absence any person in New York or even the most distant points who wants to know of the league can get information by apply ¬ ing to General Stephen Sanford of Amsterdam or Joseph Huber of Brooklyn or Henry T Oxnard of this city These gentlemen are all vicepresidents vicepresidentsA A recent recruit to the league was Harry P DIs becker former deputy United States district attor ney who lives at the New York Athletic Club Mr Disbecker said when he enrolled that it was high time the sane people of the country did something to prevent a further running amuck of virtue virtueThe The league wants all the money it can get by voluntary contribution of course Such movements require capital Office rent and the hire of help cost But no person who joins is obligated to turn a cent into the treasury nor has Colonel Bartlctt authorized any one to make collections If a man chooses to buy a button all right but if he does not that is strictly his business
