NEW YORK PRIMARIES REBUKE GOV HUGHES Xew York August 28 The recent primaries in Xew York state was almost a direct declaration against Governor Hughes and his policies policiesThere There was n distinct renominatlon issue in Albany county where the antiHughes forces won a signal victory And in the XiagaraOrleans district where a special election was held last spring in order to givo the governor a senatorial vote the voters vir ¬ tually instructed for James W Wadsworth Jr Of Onondnga county the clearly defined issue there was the gubernatorial candidacy of Senator Horace While of Syracuse as opposed to the renomliiation of Governor Hughes in every primary district the organization favoring Senator Whites candidacy won practically unanimously unanimouslyAntiHughes AntiHughes delegates were selected from Put ¬ nam and Columbia counties and from one of the two assembly districts f Dntchoss county It countyIt Is significant that In SohenectadV Hint onlv were antiHughes dolegatos eloqtPd but that the senator from that district W W Woraple who votd against tho racing bills was ronoinlnatcd which Indicates although the complete returns are not to hand that Schonectady Montgomery and Schoharle are all arrayed iu opposition to the blue law governor
