MUD RUNNERS DAY AT SEATTLE Seattle AVash August 28 Track conditions at The Meadows were even worse today than yester ¬ day owing to continued rain and genuine mud run ¬ ners carried off the prizes Maud McG Captain Burnett and Old Settler made ui a trio of winning outsiders for which there was scant support in the betting ring Laura Clay and Horace H scored as favorites and Tony Faust the remaining winner alternated in favoritism with Mirzer although the latter actually had the call at post time Mirzers backers were unlucky to lose for Tony Faust broke across him at tho start and jockey Koerner managed to keep Harris who was riding Mirzer in such close quarters for the first half mile that to get clear sailing Harris finally had to pull up and go to the outside This gave Tony Faust the race for although Mirzer gamely made up nearly all of the several lengths lost he failed to get up by a short head although gaining rapidly In the closing Htrides HtridesThe The judges have restored the stable of C B Dan ¬ iels to good standing with the exception of the horse Jack Witt whose inconsistent running pro ¬ voked a ruling against Daniels recently Evidence was lacking that Daniels profited to any great ex ¬ tent hy Jack Witts reversal of form formJockej Jockej Walshs thumb was dislocated anew dur ¬ ing the running of the first race and his other en gjigoments for the day were cancelled
